Matcha Ginger Latte

Ingredients

1 cup of water

1 3-inch knob of ginger, cut into chunks

1 tbsp honey

3/4 tsp matcha tea powder

1/2 cup milk of choice

1/8 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Heat water, ginger, and honey in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Bring mixture to a boil. Remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes to steep.
  3. Add matcha powder to a coffee cup.
  4. Pour ginger mixture through a strainer into coffee cup.
  5. Whisk mixture until no clumps of matcha remain. (This can also be done using a handheld frother.)
  6. Pour milk into coffee cup, and add cinnamon and vanilla extract. (If using a standard milk frother, froth the milk before adding to cup.
  7. Using a handheld frother, froth milk and matcha tea mixture until fully blended and frothy.
